We love running on the indoor track with AC. Well maintained and not overly crowded. Lots of great workout areas and equipment, huge indoor pool, racquetball, childcare available. Really nice YMCA. Richard Daniels, area VP, is stellar in the work he does there as well as in the community. Highly recommend.

I'm a member at another location at the Y. Went here with my dad to help him sign up at this location which was closer for him. Was immediately met with an unfriendly and rude attitude from the older gentleman at the registration desk. He said he is the only employee working at the time, which I completely understand and have been in that situation many times before working a customer service job myself. Said there was a long line for registration which was fine, but he was not nice about it. He was really rude about it and we ended up walking out. Interaction was brief, but came off super unfriendly and unwelcoming.

This facility has some great features. The main issue is that the group X room gets sooo hot during the evening classes that it feels like a sauna. Some shades or dark film would solve it but are we as members worth it ?!

I have been a member approximately 5 years. I primarily go for the Zumba classes taught by Tawanda Fulwood. She is an incredible instructor! I love my gym but every summer the same issue arises regarding the high temperatures in the upstairs group exercise studio. The temps reach almost 80 degrees! This is unacceptable! Suggestions have been made for window coverings to help block the heat especially in the afternoon. The sun also reflects off the studio mirrors which adds to the uncomfortable workout conditions. Large floor fans at each corners of the room could help with the air flow. This would be an immediate & inexpensive improvement until the ultimate solution for the windows is completed. Please take this situation seriously before a terrible incidence occurs. There are students of all ages in our Zumba classes and some of us are older adults.

I left the review below about a month ago. The William G. White Jr. Family YMCA was responsive and receptive to my feedback. Thank you for receiving the input from the members and active participants. I'm happy to report that the YMCA placed a film covering over the windows and fixed the HVAC system. The group fitness studio is cool, minimal sunlight is coming through the windows, and class participants, including myself are ecstatic. Thank you for listening. I'll give credit where its due and you not only listened but made impactful changes. This is the kind of customer service that retains members and allows people to promote the Y's offerings. Kudos to William!!! ______________________________________________________________ As much as I've enjoyed the weight room and locker facilities of this YMCA, please do not attend any of the group fitness classes in the large group fitness studio during hot weather. I’ve elevated this concern to YMCA leadership (Jordan Lloyd and Richard Daniels) as far back as 2023 and received the customary response, “we hear you and will address accordingly” and 3 years later, the William G. White YMCA is still experiencing the same issue witho
